Photoshop Frequency separation

A Gif and some notes to help me remember how to create a quick Photoshop frequency separation layer set up...

Notes;
1. Duplicate selected layer Mac: CMD+J
2. Turn of selected layer visibility on and off Mac: CMD+,

Main note (Gif for accompaniment);
1. Duplicate Background (or desired layer) and rename 'Low' (or desired name).
2. Duplicate 'Low' layer and rename 'High' (Or desired name).
3. Turn 'High' Layer visibility off.
4 Select 'Low' Layer
5. Go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur...
6. Change the radius accordingly (until the details you want to move are just invisible).
7. Select 'High' layer and turn back on visibility.
8. Go to Image>Apply Image...
9. Depending if your image is 8 or 16 bit.
  A. 8 Bit: Change Layer tab to 'Low', Blending tab to 'Subtract', Scale to '2', Offset to '128'. Click OK
  B. 16 bit: Change Layer tab to 'Low', Click 'Invert box', Blending tab to 'Add', Scale to '2', Offset to '0'. Click OK
10. Select 'High' Layer and change the layer Blending mode to 'Linear Light'.

Quick using notes;
If you turn the visibility off the low and high layer off you'll see that the 'High' Layer should contain much of the details of your image and the 'Low' Layer should contain the colours. You may need to change the Radius on the Gaussian Blur step to achieve the desired results your after.
Useful tool to use are Stamp, Mixer Brush, Brush, Patch, Spot Healing and poss Dodge and Burn.
